Managing tips on your standalone terminal

This guide will help you configure and manage how tips are displayed and collected on your Flatpay terminal. You’ll be able to customize tip percentages, enable or disable tipping, and control how tips appear to your customers during the payment process. This is also possible to customize individually on each terminal.

All of these configurations need to be made through the Flatpay portal.

Accessing tip settings

Log in to the Flatpay portal

  1. Open your web browser and log in to the Flatpay portal
  2. Navigate to the tips page: Once logged in, go to the “Settings” section
  3. Select “Tips” from the list of options to access the tipping configuration page

Enabling and disabling tips

In the terminal overview, you can switch the button to enable tips: Toggle the switch to “enabled” if you want the terminal to prompt customers to add a tip during the payment process.

Disable tips: Toggle the switch to “disabled” if you do not want the terminal to prompt customers for tips.

Customizing tip:

You can set custom tip percentages and adjust how these options appear on your terminal’s screen through the portal.

Set tip percentages:
In the “Customized tip amount” section, you can define up to four different tip percentages. For example, you might set tips at 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%.

To adjust the order in which these percentages appear, drag and drop the percentages to your preferred order.

Saving changes:
Once you’ve configured your tip settings, make sure to save your changes in the portal. These settings will be applied immediately, and your terminal will begin using the new configurations for all future transactions.
